Grammar teaching in Quebec

• [Marc Brunelle in 1997] The kind of grammatical analysis you described is compulsory in Quebec’s French secondary schools from grade 1 (12 years old) to grade 3 (14 years old).  It does not seem to be very successful if you look at the poor results students get in French written exams, but I can’t provide you with more precise information.
• [Sophie Cimon?] I did grammar analysis as a child from 1984 and for a few years. The system was well-oiled so I suspect it had been done for years. That was in Quebec, Canada, in French.
• Maybe this example from a Canadian school confirms that traditional analysis is still taught, as in France.
